It truly has been a minute. I think the last time we spoke was back in 2016 when I received my PR for Canada — what a rollercoaster it has been since then.
I still remember your advice: “Be quick, read fast — visa applications constantly change.” Well, I took it to heart. I started my citizenship application last December and here we are… on October 15th I officially became a Canadian citizen.
I always pictured that moment differently, but my wonderful community surprised me — they put on their uniforms on a random Monday just so they could officially shake my hand. I thought of you and so many others who helped me along this journey, since somehow 2010.
Thank you for your support back then. I hope you’re doing well. Whenever I meet someone trying to immigrate to Canada, I always remind them about the ups and downs — about having two homes in their heart — and I tell them about you and your office in Vancouver.
